UPDATE 6/21/13: Mike Harmon and David Novak have a court date for July 3rd. In court both Mike Harmon and David Novak are facing felony charges for breaking and entering and larceny.
UPDATE 6/17/13: Mike Harmon, a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, has reportedly turned himself in after being issued an arrest warrant. After turning himself in he posted the $10,000 bail. For the recent charges there currently is no known court date and it is unknown if NASCAR will make any decision to disallow him entrance in the next NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kentucky Speedway on the 27th of June.
UPDATE 6/17/13: Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has issued 2 warrants for arrest. The warrants are for Mike Harmon and Harmon’s business partner, David Novak. The warrants are being reported for breaking and entering and larceny. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
UPDATE 5/29/13: Rowan County Sheriff’s deputies have recovered 7 stolen vehicles from Mike Harmon’s 2 garages. Out of the 7 stolen vehicles 2 of which were cars and 5 were trucks. The vehicles are believed to have been the valuable content inside the transporter.
ORIGINAL 5/15/13: Jennifer Jo Cobb is reporting that someone stole a transporter from her team and she says she knows who did it.
Early Saturday morning Jennifer Jo Cobb reported a transporter was stolen from the JJC racing shop. Cobb told local authorities that the transporter was stolen by Mike Harmon (a fellow NASCAR driver) and Sheila Rae Rice. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office issued warrants for their arrest and will be charging them with felony larceny and breaking and entering.
The transporter and its content is being estimated at just under $300,000.
Mike Harmon spoke his side of the story on Twitter. “I want it known that I have never stolen so much as a piece of bubble gum in my life… …I did not take JJC hauler, there is no video of me anywhere near her shop. Today she was the windshield & I was the bug, but when we get in FEDERAL court in a couple wks there’s a boulder coming” tweeted Mike.
No news yet on if a transporter was recovered.
